Goldwind to be a Major Sponsor of World Fly Fishing Championship in Tasmania

Goldwind Australia has partnered with Fly Fish Australia Incorporated as a Major Sponsor for the 39^th FIPS-Mouche World Flying Fishing Championship to be held in Tasmania in 2019. This major sponsorship is one of the local contributions from Goldwind’s Cattle Hill Wind Farm which is to be constructed in the central highlands of Tasmania.

International Organiser for the event, Mr. Glenn Eggleton, said that Goldwind Australia will play a key role in supporting the event, alongside the Event Partner; the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania, and other Major Sponsors.

‘We’re incredibly pleased to welcome Goldwind Australia on board to support this exciting event. Tasmania enjoys some of the best trout fishing in the world and our first-class fishing locations will be showcased as part of this event.’ Said Mr. Eggleton.

‘Goldwind Australia has a strong focus on strengthening regional economies and supporting local jobs, making them a natural fit for an event which aims to showcase the natural environment of Tasmania and attract many visitors to the state.’ Said Mr. Eggleton.

Goldwind Australia Managing Director, Mr. John Titchen, said Goldwind Australia is aiming to actively share the benefits of the Cattle Hill Wind Farm project through sponsorship of various events and initiatives in the region.

‘The Cattle Hill Wind Farm will be located within the Central Highlands region of Tasmania, on the eastern shore of Lake Echo and adjacent to the Waddamana Substation and the Historical Waddamana Power Station. It will deliver significant benefits for Tasmanian businesses and the community.’ Said Mr. Titchen.

Preparations are underway for construction of the wind farm to commence shortly. The wind farm will consist of 48 turbines with approximately 150 jobs during construction and up to 10 permanent maintenance staff when fully operational.
